When I was deployed to Iraq my interest rate was 4%. Now that I am home my credit card interest rate got high. Now the soldiers and sailors act is only for debts acquired before the military. I got my credit card after I joined. Any suggestions on how to get it lowered.

There’s nothing that will lower it because you’re military (unfortunately). It only works when you’re deployed. Sometimes you can call them up and ask them to lower it though. They may check your credit, but sometimes it works.

call the credit card company and ask. also, check out some credit unions (navy federal or pentagon federal for instance) or a local one in your community as they have lower interest rates than your bank or large credit card issuer. Most credit unions can be joined for about $10.00, which is still your money, and entitles you to many benefits. Most are now “community chartered” which means if you live in the community, you can join.
