I’m going to college next year and I need to build up my credit… what kind of card should I get? Do I need to go through my bank? Or can i just get a Visa? Do I have to get a “student” card? If I pay off the balance in full every month, will I avoid interest? Will that still help me create credit?

I have a Mastercard debit card, does that build up credit like a credit card?

I dont have a credit card so i dont think i have any credit. But, i DO have a debit card(mastercard) and I’ve been using it for about 2 years. Did that build up any type of credit? Thanks
